A happy gathering of people attended our 40th Anniversary celebrations on the Feast of the Sacred Heart on 16th June. Forty years signifies another milestone for Heart of Life as the longest-running Spirituality Centre in Australia. People from all over the world gathered in spirit and in person to congratulate and reflect on the legacy of this ministry. Director Clare Shearman used the occasion to announce Heart of Life’s commitment to support the Uluru Statement from the Heart, noting that it was a privilege to accept the invitation from our First Nations Peoples to support the Voice. Heart of Life commits wholeheartedly to accompany them on the continuing journey ahead.
The occasion saw two books launched.

Wellspring Director Kathy Cave launched the 40th anniversary book, “Celebrating 40 Years”
One, an updated version of our history by Peter Malone msc, and the other, a collection of reflections from past Heart of Life participants, edited by Brian Gallagher msc. The book provided insights into the original vision for Heart of Life and shows the impact of Heart of Life graduates as they have taken up their ministries in the last 40 years around the world.
Both books are now available on our website.
Founder of Heart of Life, Brian Gallagher msc, was inducted into the Heart of Life Hall of Fame for his 40 years of outstanding service and dedication to the ministry of spiritual formation at Heart of Life in his roles as Heart of Life’s Founder, Director, Supporter and Mentor. Also inducted was Chris McPhee, outgoing Provincial Superior of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (Australian Province), for his unwavering support and dedication to the promotion and development of Heart of Life.
