The Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC), with the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (OLSH), the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart Sisters (MSC Sisters) and members of the Lay Chevalier Family gathered at St Thomas the Apostle Parish in Blackburn this morning to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of Jules Chevalier’s birth.

Fr Mark Hanns MSC presided, while members of the Sister congregations looked after other aspects of the liturgy, such as music and prayers, and catering afterwards. Lee Toll, member of the Australian Council for the Laity of the Chevalier Family spoke of the recent international LCF conference held in the Philippines earlier this year, and reminded everyone that essential to Fr Jules Chevalier’s mission was the role of the laity.

Enjoying fellowship afterwards, the love for the Sacred of Jesus spilled over those gathered, in conversation and joy. Some reconnected with colleagues and friends and some, making new connections.

The past and present members of the Heart of Life community were well-represented.
